Front Tow Hook mounting threads

I just got a front license plate tow hook relocation kit. However, it doesn't seem to thread right. It feels like it's threading in, but I can easily pull it out. To check this, I also screwed in the tow hook that came with the car. It also wiggles a little bit and is easily pulled out. Am I just not screwing it in correctly? or is the threading in the car's front tow hook receiver defective?

Which kit did you get? I got the kit from Grimmspeed and it's completely solid. Maybe you got a kit for a different car that doesn't have the right threading?

I got the TurboXS kit. I got it because it fits the 17+ 86 bumper. http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/turb...2013-ft86.html

But also the tow hook that came with the car in the trunk doesnt seem to thread correctly, I can pull it off easily. I dont know if its the threading or i'm not screwing it in correctly.

try putting the tow hook in one of the rear mounts and see if it screws in correctly.

Youre just not aligning it properly. I installed one a couple a days ago and had exact same issue, took me damn 20 minutes to figure out hoe to thread it in properly. If it helps, from the way I was trying to thread it in (you might be doing it differently/at a different angle) I had to very slightly change angle so the non-threaded end moved towards the center of car (my right ). Just keep trying until it doesnt come out when you pull on it. Finish up tightening with a wrench

Having problems with Perrin relocation kit

I'm having issues with my Perrin relocation kit. It felt like it went in correctly and I was able to make it hand tight. The problem is the instructions say to tighten it to 50 ft-lbs, I used my torque wrench but it would not get any tighter, it just kept spinning with the same resistance. I have I done something wrong?

It felt secure enough so I attached the plate but now I can use the plate to spin the whole assembly.

Try pulling it out with force. I dont think you have threaded it in, it shouldnt spin continuously

Well it seems like I just didn't realize how many times I had to spin the thing. Removed it, threads were ok, tried the stock toe hitch, that went in fine and tightened (much sooner I might add), reinstalled the perrin piece and kept spinning with no increase in resistance until... it stopped. :iono: Guess I am less inclined to car maintenance than I throught.
