Help!!!
Had to change the engine in my 2013 FR-S. I got engine in and put a new battery in also. When I went to start the car I get all the normal lights and dings but the car will not turn over. I tested the starter and it checks good. I checked the inhibitor relay and I get power to it when the key is in the start position. Same with the starter relay. I’ve checked all the fuses and they are fine. Any help is appreciated.

Does it crank at all?
If yes - is there gas in the car? Spark plugs? If no - Crankshaft / cam position sensor, did you check them? Did you put the engine in, or did someone else? |
You might try putting a big wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt, and turning it, to make sure the engine isn't frozen - :iono:
If it's a MT, did you check the clutch switch thing? humfrz |
It doesn’t turn over at all. I put the engine in. I will check both. Thank you

Does the starter even "click"?
Even though the battery is "new" will it pass a load test? Are the battery connections good and clean? You might try grounding the negative terminal to the frame with some jumper cables? humfrz |

Check all grounds, the starter may not be grounded. You said you checked all fuses so ecu fuse isnt the culprit, and if it's not cranking at all, probably isn't a sensor

1) out the key in the start position and move the gear shift from park to neutral. Nothing 2) checked power to the starter from the batter. Good. Checked for power to other wire while in the start position.. Nothing. 3) pulled the inhibitor relay. put the car to the start position and one off the 4 wires gets power. 4) pulled the starter relay and same results as the inhibitor relay. 5) pulled the crank shaft position sensor. Did an OHMs check.. checks good. |

Update? humfrz |
does the instrument cluster show that its in park or neutral when you have it in either? you say you swapped engines, double check the connectors at the back of the engine where the trans section ties into the engine harness. could be connector not snapped in all the way. I doubt you blew a fuse swapping an engine unless you dropped a tool across both terminals while they were still connected. even then, I doubt it. check the connectors like I said and get back with us.
