Squeal when leaving a stop
Interested on people's thoughts on an issue I'm having. Clutch was swapped less than 3k miles ago to a Southbend Stage 3 Enduro with a 2017 OE TOB, Motul fluid.
When leaving stops I currently get a weird squeel at the very top of the clutch engagement before moving. Sound is brief, variable, but is considerably different from a TOB failure sound. Any idea of potential culprits? Originally thought it may be a wheel bearing going as it sounds like something spinning is causing it but it doesn't correlate to wheel spin. Any insight is appreciated Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk |
I may be wrong here, but I think it's the flywheel that starts squealing. Did you take a peek when swapping out the clutch? The same squeal happened to me in my previous car and when I went to change the clutch, the flywheel was pretty bad. Sometimes you can get away with resurfacing but I had to get a new one. Squeal was gone after that.

Is it only when you start from a stop? Or anytime you release the clutch? The clutch fork could be squeaking where the slave cylinder hits it, or on the pivot ball. Try greasing those areas if you haven't.

I have to release the clutch around 95% and then right as its catching there's 1-3 seconds of variable squeal. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk |
