205/65/16 On stock hight?
Hi guys has anyone fitted 205/65/16 tires on the twins without any rubbing?
I have ran 205/60/16 on 50mm offset 6.5 inch steelies for two winters (Generial Altimax Winter Tires) with no rubbing or issues. Now I'm going to be purchasing the Blizzacks and want to try the taller tire size for more ground clearance. @churchx told me he recalled a post that stated Originally Posted by churchx View Post 1) i recall post on stock wheels, that "225/55/17 rubs, 225/50/17 fine". So I used @dominicpadawan wheel fitment calculator https://www.ft86motorsports.com/wheelitfit/ use those sizes as a baseline to see if I can get an idea if it will rub or not. Still not sure if it will. It says that the 205/60/16 tires are in the red but I know they fit with no issues, so I,m not sure I can go by it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
That post was here, if matters. Pitty w/o details, rubbing where & how exactly. After all, depending on wheel & tire width it may differ if it's on wheel arch, or on endlinks, or on strut, or when suspension bottoms out (and i can only assume/guess, that on stock suspension & alignment) .. only thing mentioned, that 225/50/R17 didn't rub turned lock to lock.
Be aware, that in this case it's on stock 17" wheels/stock offset and with wider tire of 225, instead of 205 for you. |

215/45-R17 has 24.6" height for reference 205/60-R16 is 25.7" 205/65-R16 is 26.5" I think more than one full inch difference is a little too much. If you go to 205/55-R16 it is an acceptable 24.9" height. Go with 205/55-R16. |
OP's goal is not closest to stock. But largest that won't rub.
