Remove mirror cover and fender side vents?
Anyone know how to remove the exterior Mirror covers and the side vent with the 86 logo?
|
I can't speak for the Scion.
But for the Subaru: Mirror covers can be removed by hand. I usually use my fingernail or a trim removal tool to make a gap. Then they pull off. The fender garnish requires: Heat gun to loosen the sticky tape Wire to slide through the sticky tape Moulding remover to remove the six clips Could be different on the Scion though? idk. |
The faux vent or the 86 emblem? The 86 piston ornaments are held on with adhesive and two alignment 'pin', similar to the front badge.

wish someone would do a DIY for this. Thinking of taking off the 86 Piston to repaint it.

someone already said how it's held one. It's 3M double sided tape with a plastic guide pin on either side... the pins aren't lined up though.

The seems are tight for removing the side mirror caps. A credit card, a microfiber towel, and some blue mask tape helped me.
