Patience. Don't bend the headliner when you take it out. Removing the passenger seat makes it easier. I assume that you are talking about one of these DIY kits. And not the premade kit that is $3000.00. https://www.ebay.com/itm/10W-RGBW-Ca...juj:rk:15:pf:0 Make your self a clean work area. Take your headliner out. Get some fabric glue and a soldiering iron. Feed each fiber (yes, one at a time) through the headliner from the back. Then use the soldiering iron to flatten the tip carefully. The slightly flattened "head" of the fiber now will be harder to pull back through (which you do not want), makes the "star" look a little brighter, and is better for gluing. Pull the fiber back to the fabric and dab one drop of glue on it. Either on the front, or the back. It depends on how the glue looks on the fabric. The back is probably best looking, though more time consuming. Make your pattern clustery, like the night time sky. If it is too even it won't look right. This is a time consuming process, but the end result (if you had patience and a little skill) should look awesome! I work with LEDs. And, have made fiber optic and LED lighted: t-shirts, ball caps, posters, and a few other random things using this method. Good luck! |
Any possible installation videos available out there ? All the videos I see on
YouTube aren’t too detailed on how to tap them through the headliner and secure them |
