tuning frs maf/injector

hi

i have an issue while trying to tune my frs my afr wont match target,
my idle is rich and my wot is lean,

on stock injector size and stock maf scale on open loop my idle is either 12.7 or 13.7 depends on coolant temp it gets richer after it warms up not the opposite, and my wot would be around 14.7.

i tried scaling my maf until i did hit fuel cut at 6800rpm my wot was still way off,
i copied maf scale from oft to my ecutek, it got my wot to 13.8, i scaled my injectors to 4% smaller and di pressure to 4% higher pressure, and this got me to 12.9 then i add 2% above 3.5v and this got me close enough as high as 12.7 and as low as 11.95 so there is a huge swing is there a way to fix this without scaling maf and my load is off i want to lower my load

my target is 12.5 at engine load 1 , 12.4 at engine load 1.1.

there is some moment my afr goes down to 11.2 while the ecu targeting 13.6, and there is some moment it would be 16 and ecu targeting 13.6

my main issue now is the load is off because of the maf scale so is there another table i could adjust to get lower load with higher maf scale, and is there another table to fix this fuel issue i know there is no ve table but is there any table would have any effect on fuel calculation?

thanks

It would help to know what you are tuning. Is it a stock engine, exhaust parts, changes to intake etc.?

jdl uel

k&n drop in filter
1320 over and front pipe
stock mid pipe
nameless muffled track pipe
deleted rear 02 (its disabled in af correction #3)
my flexfuel kit says my tank has e11 with 91
my di has rich wot and pi has lean wot but pi still pig rich idle not sure what is my di idle afr as it switches to pi for idle

It sounds like you have a hardware problem

log the ecu and see what ethanol percent the ecu is registering, dont go off the guage only, it possible the ecu is seeing different reading its not driven of same point as guage.

if thats ok id disconnect flex kit and flash stock tune since you have petrol in tank, then see if same issues.

this will eliminate tune
im assuming injectors are stock

after reading this again id flash a stock tune and see if that ok

their no reason you need to make big changes to maf scaling or pi injectors or di pressure to run E85 or flex and on NA car no need for speed density or VE tables. the fueling is done via an overall fuel quantity multiplier. what tune system do you have ?

Tor 10-15-2018 09:52 AM

The stock MAF scale is not going to fit with the JDL header as you experienced.

After that, it sounds to me like the MAF scaling went awry and you then tried to correct the wrong MAF scale by starting messing with the injectors.

Take a few steps back and start over with the MAF scaling. If you get stuck messing with it yourself, you are welcome to shoot me a PM.

i still havent made a racerom map for flexfuel i wanted to dial the 91 octane map before spending 350$ on a racerom

and i dont have issue with ecu reading my ethanol percentage on my delicious tuning stage 2 tune , it does run 13.6 at wot with the stage 2 tune

yes stock injector fuel pump stock coil pack and spark plugs stock engine just bolts on

with 100% stock tune untouched except af correct #3 im hitting 14.7 at wot this is reading is verified with my external wideband at the rear o2 location
as i mentioned with delicious tuning tune i hit 13.6 wot it used to be 13.2 couple of months ago

this is my maf scale from 4 months ago this is with stock injector value, it got my afr with 2%+- at wot , but now i tried it again and i got fuel cut at 6800

Tor 10-15-2018 10:58 AM

What exactly do you mean by "fuel cut"?

The ECU doesn't cut fuel unless you hit the rev limiter.

If everything stock and your getting 14.7 at full throttle on stock tune you got a hardware issue

make sure you just flash stock ecutek rom ie a completly stock factory tune , no racerom feature file added

ie exhaust leak, bad sensor, bad fuel pump bad injectors something hardware.

this is backed up by you saying your deliceous tune hit 13.6 at wot , thats way lean even on E85 and as you say its getting leaner than a couple of months ago.

Stock tune should hit high 10 afr at wot
Id imagine any tune from reputable tuner for petrol should be targeting low 12 at full throttle on petrol

Im not understanding this why would a header effect the maf scaling ?

i dont know the engine leaned out and started to hit fast rev limiter like the one on neutral not in gear i think i reached load limit and i need to raise the limit like what people do for fi engines

he is saying headers improve airflow that the engine runs leaner so it need higher maf scale
