The whiteline Perrin positive shift kit
 

Somehow it fixed my problem with 6-5 downshift above 70mph.
But I got it BC I wanted to get rid of the low speed bucking, and it did that also.
Btw, I mean fixed the grind. I can't make it happen.

What's going on here again? It sounds like the shift kit did stuff. Was it not supposed to do stuff?

I liked my tranmission insert but I hated how much it hurts the car if you accidently lug engine.

After getting rid of mine I used more clutch finesse to compensate for the bucking.

Can you go into a little more detail on how you feel it hurts the car if you accidentally lug the engine? I have the kit and I’m wondering if I’ve just gotten used to or tuned out what you’re talking about.

Well I noticed in can be easy to lug this engine if you apply a bit too much clutch on take off, which shakes the whole transmission and by extension the whole drivetrain. When the transmission is more directly connected to the chassis, all the vibrations get transferred to the driver which may be where I “feel” damage is being done, but the noise was always much louder and I would feel horrible for my car.

I do miss giving the car gas and not having it rock back and forth, but I felt like the various inserts prevented too much necessary drivetrain slack. (Maybe it would feel better with engine mounts and diff inserts).

I didn't know it'd fix the mini grind. But, it worked elsewhere like it was supposed to. Some mods really don't do shit, not this one.

Part of the reason I went sti on the engine and trans mounts. It's a factory-engineered middle ground between the soft stock parts and poly.

Parts installed today, impressions are great! I haven't taken it out to a back road to wring it out fully yet.

Whiteline Transmission Insert: Pretty much fixed a huge problem I was having with drivetrain slack. Before, when accelerating I'd have to wait for the mount to crush before I could feel acceleration, and it would often come with a bit of a thunk as it all settled. NOW, its so damn smooth. Shifts amazing now that the transmission doesn't buck around. Only issue is the NVH, which is really just more noise from the engine being directly transferred into the car.. its loud.

Perrin Shift Stop: I didn't realize I needed this. This gets rid of the weird feeling when you're upshifting but not sure if you put it all the way into gear.. this makes it much more comfy. Shifts go in with a bit of a clunk which is satisfying. I hope this part wears well and that I won't have to regrease it often.

Does the Perrin Shift Stop fit the STi support? Is it good or not?
