Help - Condensation/Water Drip Inside Vehicle - **VIDEO**
 

Video was taken on a hot day, high humidity and AC on max. Please note, the water would drip down onto the passengers left foot (approximately where the location of the drip is).

What is this? Any tips to fix it? I don't live in a very hot climate and rarely use AC.

OK, I posted about this awhile back...


I removed the access panel with the plug and two philips screws. I traced the shape of the panel. Then I fixed the issue by making a small gasket out of piece of rubber sheet. Once Installed, it stopped the leak. Mine was spraying the passenger!!!!


I drove my car today, so I'll take pics and upload them. (when I get a break in a little while... )








EDIT: Philips screws not bolts. I also checked the drain tube.

In addition, since the water is most likely coming off the A/C condenser, the water should follow a tube/channel to the under side of the car. Most likely that tube is plugged, kinked, broken or disconnected. It should be checked and repaired.

NO, My tube was totally fine. No clogs, kinks, or anything wrong with it. The panel was not sealing anymore for the water flowing behind it.

Sorry, you are right, I am overly excited to share the solution I came up with..


I also should have posted earlier that I checked my drain tube first, as it seemed the logical solution.


I can tell from the video OP posted he is experiencing the exact same issue I did. The water is slightly pressurized behind the panel. Unless the panel makes a perfect seal, water will come out of that location.

Seems like I could make a gasket or run some gasket maker around it..but where is the access panel?? Is there a time stamp in my video you can point out?

I reckon I'm sort of sensitized this morning; I suggested to my daughter that she had too much perfume on - she yelled at me; I had a few items sorted wrong for the laundry - mrs humfrz yelled at me; I tried to get the toddler (in her terrible twos) to pick up some of her toys - she yelled at me.

Back in the day - I would just have a bloody Mary and everything would have been OK.

Hello Timmy,
Watch your video. You keep panning the camera up and looking right at the panel. (it has the plug with wires and two Philips screws). Try pausing it at 1 second in.
