Tranny Fluid

This is my first time posting so bare with me! I am having trouble up shifting from first to second and down shifting from 6th to fifth gear. When i try to put it in gear i have to force it and that is no good. I currently am running the OEM Fluids. I bought Redline gear oil to see if that helps out. i will let you guys know.

Can you give us some info on the car? Year, mileage, any modifications done (particularly anything related to your transmission), etc.

You might have to mess around with putting the stick into multiple slots so the tranny fluid can spread all over.

I didn't like the way my FR-S shifted much either. I tried Redline and was not impressed with it in that car as I usually am in most cars. I found that AMSOIL worked with that transmission much better. Also, make sure you're using an OEM or other weighted shift knob and swapping the shifter bushing for a stiffer one helps too.

2014 frs with 54k miles. I just recently replaced the clutch with an Exedy oem clutch. I have exhaust and a intake. Nothing done to the tranny.

Thank you... :) I am hoping the fluid will help and no i do not have a short shifter. It is the stock shifter that came with the car.

I heard good reviews about AMSOIL. i do not think you can buy AMSOIL online. Correct me if i am wrong. That is why i went with REDLINE. If i can buy AMSOIL online that will be my second choice of fluids if i am not satisfied with REDLINE. i have the stock shifter and stock oem knob. I did some searching on the forums and people upgrade the shifter bushing. Im considering it.

Did your car shift poorly before you replaced the clutch?
