2013 FR-S OEM Pioneer Head Unit issue
Hello,
I've been driving for 6 years and 60,000 miles, and all the sudden my stereo is stuck in Bluetooth mode. If i press AM/FM, disc, etc. (the other three sides of the plus-shaped button) nothing happens. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my phone, turning the unit on and off, and pushing all the various buttons. Is there some kind of hard reset, like on so many computerized things, (realizing how old I sound right now) or does it seem like that button has physically broken? Thanks for any advice or tricks I can try. |
Battery pull for 30s?

Try disconnecting the battery for 15 seconds or so and then reconnecting for a hard reset. Most infotainment systems actually never turn off completely. You might also go through the settings and find the reset menu to factory setting item (if it has one). This will erase your data in case the data is corrupted. I'd probably erase the data first and then do the hard reset. If it is a systems problem, that will probably fix it. However, if it is a hardware issue, that won't. It could be in the switch or it could be some sort of circuit board glitch. If your unit is still under warranty, then there is a fix. If not, you may be looking at replacing the unit which not a cheap thing to do. Good luck.
