OEM oil temp sensor location and accuracy ?
1 Attachment(s)
I noticed the ECU has an oil temp sensor feed in the OBD2 data, and I'm trying to find where this temp is being measured?
Is it the sensor I circled in yellow in the attached picture?
And does anybody know how accurate the OE sensor is? I'm asking because I'm seeing about a 10 degree F differential between the OE sensor in the OBD2 data and the GlowShift oil temp gauge that's installed, which has me scratching my head a bit. The GlowShift sensor in my car is mounted in a port on my Skunk2 Racing oil cooler sandwich plate.
(Original pic from the GlowShift gauges WEBsite. It shows their oil sensor adapter installed, as well as an example of where to install the sender unit for their temp gauge which I circled in red. In my case, this sensor is mounted in the oil cooler sandwich plate)
