LED front turn signals and Valenti tailights
This is my first post on here :happyanim:
I am looking to upgrade the front turn signals to LED's and taillights to Valenti sequential ones. If I were to install a hyperflash-fix flasher under the dash, how does it affect the sequential function of the taillights? - Does it prevent the tail light turn signals from fully "extending"? If the flasher would mess with the rear tail light sequential function would I need resistors, and if so which wires to tap into(for the front turn signals)or would the front not hyperflash? |
I don't have experience with Valenti sequential tail lights, but an electronic flasher is no different from the stock flasher. It just uses electronics to control the on/off current flow to the turn signals, as opposed to a mechanical mechanism. At the end of the day, the tail lights still see the same current, for the same amount of time (give-or-take any slight difference in the rate at which the specific module you purchased flashes.)
TL;DR, I don't think it would affect the sequential function of the tail lights, but I'm also just guessing based on my limited knowledge of how it operates. I'm sure you can get a better answer from someone with those actual lights. /kinda-sorta-useless-reply |
I sold my neighbor my switchback LEDs for the front. He has the sequential rear taillights, and he told me that the rear turn signals will only go halfway before restarting. I'm not sure if that's because it is a switchback style, or simply being LEDs in the front. He just switched it to non-sequential turning.

You need need an led relay to stop the hyper flashing caused by the front led indicators. The Valenti has built in resistors so don’t need a relay installed to function. The reason why the other post was only getting half the sequence on the tail lights is because the front led was causing hyper flash and so the sequence of the tail lights is too rapid to do the full sequence. Again just needs an led relay and only one.

Those after aftermarket relays suck. Just mod the OEM flasher like this:

The delay on first blink is exactly why I say the aftermarket ones suck. You can pull the OEM blinker, desolder the shunt resistor and solder in a new one for about $0.10 and still maintain the burnt bulb detection (something the aftermarket relays don't do) and not have that annoying lag on the first flash.

Valenti make a relay that don’t have the first flash delay and also has tap to turn.
