Is it normal for STFT and LTFT to always be 5% above?
 

I took a screen shot of torque LFT1% for my 2017 86 and was wondering if +5% is normal after a 30 minute ride. My car has about 400 to 500 miles. I get 91 octane gas at costco which is suppose to be top Tier gas. I'm keeping the revs under 4000 per tech manual instructions till I hit 1000 miles. I'm getting about 26.5MPG average.

I also noticed that my timing advanced highest value is 31.5 degrees. This morning it reset when I turned on the car and by the time I got to work, the highest value said 45 and it was hanging around 10degrees

1. Is this normal for 91 octane gas? Will 93 lower that LFT to 0?

2. Is the timing advance related to stft/ltft%?

3. Should I take my car in to toyota to check this out, although they may not be happy at me having an odbc device plugged in.

Other than this, the car seems to run fine. No issues starting. Then again, I've only driven the car for two weeks so the ears and butt dyno is not perfectly tuned yet.

stft will vary a lot with throttle this is normal


ltft high values like over 10% can indicate problems


5% is ok

To get a total value, are you suppose to add stft% to the LTFT%?

For example 5% ltft +8%stft=13%?

LTFT is the average of SFTF values over time.


once STFT has averaged say +3% in a air flow band for a period of time it gets remembered as LTFT in that band as +3%


Pretty well ignore stft and just look at ltft values over the air flow range (roughly related to rpm) if you ltft is always below a about 5% plus or minus your good. LTFT will vary a bit more at idle compensating for large intake air temp changes
