Newly installed Apexi EXV N1 coilovers clunk noise when car’s cold
Notice this for a few days now after the install. I can hear clunk noise from rear suspension when turning in slow speed or going over a speed bump. However, the noise subdued after driving for a while. Is this normal? I had mine installed at a reputable shop I’ve been going for almost 10 years.

Could be anything really. Try re-torquing everything.

Mine do the same thing. If you’re running solid top mounts like I am, I believe it is actually just the spherical bearing shrinkage due to it not being warm enough. Not sure how familiar you are with metallurgy but when metals are cold they shrink, and when they heat up the expand. The little bearing the shock fits into on the mount will shrink in diameter, thus allowing it to move up and down slightly inside the race. Thats my theory, as I don’t know what else it could be. I wouldnt worry too much about it. Solid mounts are usually pretty noisy at low speed because race car. Be careful with hitting large bumps in the road too fast, it can really mess up those bearings Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
