Alignment after getting new tires, was this even necessary?(Pic included)
 

Slapped some new tires on and they recommended an alignment. My old tires wore extremely evenly, but I figured what the hey, new tires, don't wanna cheap out here. When the alignment report came back though... (which I'm just now taking a peek at when I got home) feel like they should've just said, nah you're good.

What do you think?

You should have gotten them to match the driver's side camber to the passnger's side while they did it to make it worth while.

At least they fixed the front toe up.

But yeah, wasn't worth doing. There was no indication that the alignment was off to begin with and they were just drumming up business.

Depends on what they charged and how much you care about the nitty gritty of how your car performs. I'd be totally satisfied to spend $100 on that alignment, much more and it'd be a ripoff. But I care about how the car is aligned to an insane amount, if it was a commuter car then yeah I'd feel like I wasted some time/money.

Also your shop is lazy for not measuring caster.

They might have got one over on you there. There's only so much that can be done on stock parts and that rear right being different than the left camber is pretty normal. They don't check it with you in it and when you sit in it it may be closer to even. .13 front right toe isn't a big deal but being even is always better.

They did get rid of your toe as pointed out. But yea more or less waist of money. I would of asked them to add some camber to the front and match the front left and right but it is what it is.

This is why I don't take my car to chain stores...

Camber isn't adjustable with stock parts, so there's nothing they could've done to even out the camber at all.

I'd be disappointed in that alignment, but that's just me.

Does the shop offer a warranty of any kind? I would take it back til they fixed my rear toe too.

Its posible you can lrovide "ideal" alignment picture like op? With that i can bring it to my tech so he can work to achieve such numbers

If you get a generic alignment for a car, you cannot expect them to do *anything* more than get you "all green".

More people need to be aware that:
1. You don't need an alignment with new tires
2. Factory adjustments on this car are limited to front and rear toe
3. Factory specs are a very broad range

If you're getting a generic alignment on this car, you should not be paying much for it because you won't be getting much *if anything* out of it.

Depending on the shop, asking for a certain spec like 0 toe sometimes goes a long way to get better the -.08 and .1 side to side though.

A good alignment is driver and car dependent. This requires a good shop.

But for a completely stock 86, there aren't a lot of adjustments to make. Just zero the toe to make things simple.

I realize. But it can be made that way. But that's not what the question was about.

Thanks for all the replies, the car IS entirely stock and it was from a dealership. Normally I wouldn't have even gotten the alignment but the tech seemed like a solid cut and I actually came back to look it up while they were putting the tires on and I found a few recommendations for it. All that being said, I'm very far from being an expert but I've seen alignment reports before and this just seems like such a waste of money/ time for an incredibly small gain... if any. I've no problem going back and having them take another crack at it/refund (if it does in fact seem like they shouldn't have done it/known better/done more/etc), as in my experiences any place that works on a car will always try to make it right if they can.
