Jacks transmission rebuild service

Has anyone sent a transmission to Jacks Transmissions to get theirs rebuilt?

Im having issues with my 4th gear grinding at anything above 5.5k rpm, and I’m afraid it will just get worse from there. Sometimes 3rd and 5th gear will grind a little during up shifts too, doesn’t matter what The rpms are at. Only mods I have is oft uel stage 2, shifter springs, white line transmission insert, and catback exhaust.

The car was bought used with 30k miles and the transmission fluid was swapped to motul gear 300 at 32k, again at 60k, and again at 75k

4th gear only started acting up at 65k. My car is at 80k so I’m out of warranty so bringing it into the dealership is out of the question. A friend that works at the dealership said it’s about 6,000 for a new transmission installed.

I’m trying to see if the rebuild service offered by jacks is worth it, how is the rebuild holding up, and how is their customer service. I’m planning to buy a used broken transmission and sending that in to get that fully rebuilt so at least I have a car to get to work.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried switching from motul to redline oil? Might be a cheaper option for the meantime

I would have suggested that if he didn’t already change it a couple of times. Don’t waist your time or money on changing the fluids.

I have not heard about any rebuilds from them. I would compare the price of a rebuild and possibly have the same issue down the road or see if you can get the2017 transmission it dosnt have the issue I would also upgrade the diff to the 2017 as well as it has a better final drive.

He said he used the same fluid 3 times. I think....
Any who you can try and save a few bucks by taking the tranny out yourself. Or maybe you can find a cheap on from a wrecked car.

I've been running a Jack's rebuilt for the past 2 years (2 racing seasons). Went this route after destroying 2 transmissions in the hopes it would last longer.
I've been testing prototype parts for them and couldn't be happier. My trans is at their shop right now being upgraded with the carbon synchros and some other stuff.
Costumer service is top notch and they stand behind their products 100 percent.

Having said that, Trans have gone down in price a lot. It depends on what you do with the car.
For me, longevity and buttery shifting makes it worth.

I think used transmissions go for around 400$. You might be able to roll the dice on that one if you don't want to shell out 6k.
