Abs and traction light no tailights replaced brake light switch now what?

Ok so i had the common brake light switch failure symptoms of abs light and traction control light and no brake lights. I checked all the fuses and replaced the switch with a new oem part. And it still doesn't work. Also tried disconnecting battery. Still no luck. Any suggestions? Do you need to adjust it a certain way or a scan tool to reset light and have brake lights working again? It is a 14 brz limited 6 speed thanks.

If you're sure the fuse is good, I'd suggest you check and see if you have power to the switch. If so, I'd suggest you check and see if power is coming out of the switch when it is open/closed.

If so, manually work the switch and see if the brake lights come on. If they do, I reckon the switch isn't positioned correctly.

HA .....HA ...... I beat @Tcoat to the trouble shooting post .......:D

Will just pressing the button on the switch be enough for the brake lights to come on if it is the position of the switch or do i also need to press the brake pedal.

Well, if you activate the switch manually, and everything is working proper, the brake lights should come on (if there isn't a break between the switch and the bulbs or the bulbs are burnt out).

I reckon the brake pedal is activating the switch ...... how else would the lights know to come on ... ??

Maybe ol @Tcoat will be along to clarify the situation.

I just had a grueling Walmart experience ...... and I need a nap ......:bonk:
