Air Releasing sound over speed bumps

Hi Guys,

car is just at 5,500 km. all stock.

Just noticed lately that whenever i go over a speedbump, basically whenever the shock is being compressed, (it seems loudest as i HIT the bump, versus AFTER the tire lands on the other side of the bump) there is the slight sound of air being released - like in sci fi movie airlocks. No thunks or anything, just that air being released/ with a slight spring squeaking sound.

As to how loud, if i just creep over the bump, there will be no sound at all. If i take the bump a little faster, but slow enough that there is still no after-bounce, the sound is there. I cannot hear it with windows closed.

This only happens in my front end.
Any clues?

I'm going to say that's normal. Or my car is all F'ed up too.

What your describing sounds like just the noise the fluid makes as it passes through the valving in the strut.

Sell car, it's totaled. It's going to catch on fire soon. Buy a nice civic.

Just double check your struts and surrounding area, make sure they aren't splashed with oil.

Too late! Any thread going south with such suddenness can't possibly be put back on track with a single serious answer. Once a gas, always a gas.

(I've heard a little whoosh over speed bumps in other cars, but not my BRZ -- yet.)

Keep this thread going! I am literally LOLing!

No air leak but the rears sound like they are bottoming out over small bumps. Checked and rechecked no issues.

It's the sound of your blow off valve, your car is secretly turbo'd and no one told you

Jk its normal don't worry my BRZ and my old SUV did it too.
