check engine comes on and off

So my check engine light came on a while ago and i checked it and it gave me the ignition coil code. i didn't have the money atm to fix anything so i left it alone for a couple of days. when i turned it back on the light was off, but every time i quickly accelerate while driving the CEL comes back on for a day or two then it turns off again. my RPM's aren't jumping up and down the way it would if i had a bad ignition coil, so im thinking its most likely my spark plugs or spark plug wires. has anyone experienced this issue or could you tell me what you think? thanks.

Replace the coil pack it tells you to if you want the code to go away.

Hello Chefboyarmin and welcome to our forum .......

You might try plan B ...... first. That would be to disconnect your car's battery for a few minutes (then hook it back up .... ;)) to make sure the engine code thrower just isn't messen with you. You might get lucky.

If that don't work, I'd suggest you go with plan A, that @strat61caster suggested.

I hope you get it sorted out ...... :)

thanks for the feedback. that was the first thing i did humfrz, but every time i push it past 6 or 7 rpm's the CEL comes on. Also, ive always heard that if you replace 1 coil pack you might as well replace all four. what do you guys think?

How many miles are on the caR?

Dont replace all 4, waste of money and time. Replace the one that is bad. The code will tell you which location, Im going to guess and say it was P0351, since its the most common, thats passenger side, the closest one to the front of the car.

You might think that replacing the coil pack will resolve this issue forever. But if you are like most other people I've seen, usually once a coil pack goes bad, it will periodically keep going bad, the same one, at the same spot.
