Hello FT86 Club!

We are Sparta Evolution, and we would like to introduce ourselves as a new FT86Club forum sponsor! Sparta Evolution is an engineering, R&D, and manufacturing firm based in Redmond, WA (just outside Seattle). We specialize in big brake kits for racing applications, as well as high performance OE replacement pads and rotors!

Founded in 2007, we have been a track focused company since our inception. Our first product, the Sparta Evolution Triton braking system, was launched after 5 years of benchmarking, research, testing, and product development. Since our 2012 debut, we have supplied and supported over a dozen SCCA, BMWSCCA, NASA, and time attack cars. We were even able to support the Strom Motorsports BMW 328i (E90 pictured below) in their 2015 25-hours of Thunderhill E1 class victory. Though our bread and butter has always been BMW, our success in the market has allowed us to expand our selection across a wide array of domestic and import vehicles commonly found at the track, including the Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ / Scion FRS!

Though we offer 3 tiers of 2 piece calipers depending on your application and intended use, every caliper we manufacture is machined from cold forged 2014-T4 aluminum, and every adapter and hat is machined from cold forged 6061-T4 aluminum. Just as well, each of our rotors are cast and machined with our signature S-groove pattern in the USA, using the highest quality iron recipes available.

For the front axle of the ZN6 / ZC6 chassis, we offer both a 4 piston caliper on a 330mm 2-piece rotor, or a 6 piston caliper on a 355mm front 2-piece rotor. With such a light and well balance vehicle, we have found a front BBK is enough for most 86 drivers, but if you’re planning on running high downforce and/or slick tires out on the track, we recommend pairing our 6 piston 355mm front kit with a 4 piston 355mm rear kit.

If you’re not looking to upgrade to a BBK just yet, we also offer two different compounds from our Sparta Performance Pad (SPP) lineup. SPP 2.0 is our high performance street compound designed for spirited driving, autocross, and light duty track work, and SPP 3.0 is our street / track hybrid compound, designed for more demanding HPDE track days.

Please feel free to reply here or PM us with any questions or comments, and we look forward to contributing to this forum!

These kits are track focused, or some of them have dustboots and alikes, for use in eg. winter with roadsalt environment daily driving too?
What is rotor and pads thickness in these kits? How common are pad shapes in these?
Is brake bias close to stock?
Do kits include steel braided lines?
Also advising to post brake fitment templates in this thread for your BBKs.

All of our kits come with fully recessed dust boots. We did this for endurance race reliability, not to mention it's convenience for all weather driving as you mention.

The number after the rotor diameter designates thickness. IE 355.32.52 is our 355mm rotor which is 32mm wide, and our 330mm rotor (330.30.52) is 30mm wide. The third number is the 'swept area' of the pad, or pad annulus. We use standard FMSI pad shapes. For the 86, our 4 piston caliper uses a standard FMSI D592 pad shape, and the 6 piston uses the Brembo DR29 pad shape. These pad shapes are readily available from most pad manufacturers, and we also offer our SPP 1.0 and 1.5 street compounds, and SRP 100 race compounds in these shapes. Pad thickness' will vary by manufacturer, but are typically 17mm including the backing plate, though these calipers are designed to take a 21mm max pad thickness.

We engineer our kits to be within 1-2% of the stock bias when used with the OE master cylinder. Typically, OE systems are designed with a heavier front bias to promote understeer for safety. In this case, our kit shifts the bias ~1% toward the rear.

Yes, all our kits include braided stainless teflon coated brake lines.

Thanks for the heads-up, I will do so now, and I'll attach it here just in case! Be sure to select 'Actual Size' when printing.
