Sebring, BRZ & Tarmac II's
So I'm attending my first HPDE in a twin and was wondering if anyone had any setup recommendations for one running RCE Tarmac II's. (Bump & Rebound).
All my previous HPDE's were in a 3,600lb AWD understeering pig (in the background of the pic below) so the transition to a RWD over-steering BRZ should lead to a fun weekend. http://www.challengepromotions.com/W...Rebuild/86.jpg |
The settings in the manual are a good starting point. Tune to preference/track from there. Since Sebring is a bit bumpy you might want to bump back compression/rebound a couple clicks. Of course the rest of your setup will also determine how your dampers are set.

Opie... do you work at a subie dealer?
I bought your LGT if you are who I think you are... :) |

I do, I sold my ABP LGT to a guy from New York in 2010...was wondering if it would ever surface again. Still in good shape? |
I's start here and add bump in 2 click increments. I would NOT rely on rebound to calm the car thru turns 17 and 1. Seems like backwards thinking but it works.
Front rebound 10 clicks ( from full stiff) Front bump 12 clicks Rear rebound 13 clicks Rear bump 8 clicks. Randy Pobst ran the Chin Motorsports car there and loved it. That car DID have 500 lb springs on it and ran close settings to this but with 3 clicks MORE bump damping. Myles |
Thanks Myles! I actually had the Chin car at my house for a few months (I fixed a tranny issue for them that came up at the May Sebring event) and loved it, I am building my BRZ using a lot of info I learned from the Chin car.
My BRZ is currently set as you listed above, alignment & corner balancing was done today. Ready to go get some seat time in a week and a half. |

I sold the car about two years after I bought it from you. Added a DP and TMIC and a tune for a little more power, but left it pretty much as is otherwise. It was very tastefully modified so I didn't need to do anything. :) Looks like we both wanted to move to something lighter and more fun! I got my FRS a few months ago and have taken it to a couple of track events. A ton of fun so far. Good to reconnect again! |

I've been thinking about going from 400/400 on my T2s to something stiffer like 504/616 (9k/11k). You have any experience with that set up on the T2s? I'm looking for a little bit more rotation and it still isn't quite there with the Perrin RSB I have on now. I might play with the damper settings this weekend though to see if I can get it just where I want it. |
