Boost gauge dimmer wiring problem
I am wiring up my boost gauge. It has a black for ground, Red for 12v and yellow for dimmer. I need to know which is the best location to wire the yellow dimmer for the boost gauge light. I have tried the purple wire to the dimmer switch. It doesn't dim. The light stays constant. Can someone help with the local to place the yellow wire so it dims the light. Thx in advance. Steve

Lots of people installing gauges this week. I tapped my dimmer wire into the "panel" 10amp fuse under the dash.

cubix, I remember n some past post I have been reviewing for the last 3 hrs, something about the 10 amp panel fuse. But I'm not understanding completely how the boost gauge light will dim. Is this 12v from the 10amp the analog wire that will operate it? So I will put the red wire from the gauge to the purple wire on the dimmer switch for headlights, and yellow to the 10 amp Panel under the dash. Do I have that correct? Thx partner

- Constant 12v power into the "STOP" fuse - Switched 12v power into the "DRL" fuse - Dimmer wire into the "PANEL" fuse - Ground wire into the bolt https://s22.postimg.org/6sbm5pyj5/photo_5.jpg |

Ultra, at this point I am willing to give this a try. I swear this reverse voltage bullshit Subaru crap is crazy. I never once faced any crap like this working on Aerospace ground equipment in the Air Force or on C-130,s or F-15 B models and c models. How freaking difficult should be I just want to wire up a boost gauge so it works and dims when I turn on the lights and want to dim it down at night like my gauges because its to damn bright. What the hell man. Any ideas??

cubix not to be confusing myself anymore than I already have damn it. I am, clear I believe in your last message, so by dimming like you sad with this method, that dimming will happen via me scrolling the dimmer on the dash or its automatic when the it gets dark?

It dims when you turn on the lights. With the knob or it set to auto. When the radio dims, the gauge dims.

cubix, just dawned on me. My particular gauge only has a 12v red power wire. which this one they suggest goes to 12v switched. I have a yellow wire which is the dimmer wire. then a ground wire. So I will try the 12v switch to the DRL fuse. The yellow to the panel fuse/ then black to ground. I will see what happens. If that doesn't do it, Tell me what gauge you are running and I will mirror your set up if you don't mind. Thx again Steve
