Who else has a few rusty screws under the hood?
 

The engine bay is so clean and new, so these rusted bits really stand out.
I would like to replace them. Does anyone have the same issues?

Next step, is to look up the parts numbers.

Just out of curiosity, but where do you live? I live in a salty humid area and have no problems.

Seriously, why not use some rust remover then give them a lite spray of WD40 here and there?

If you are going to clean and coat. Look into Liquid Film, it is lanolin based and is often self healing. It is the new WD40 on the block. We use it on equipment that has to be left outside.

No. The engine bay on my 2013 FR-S looks brand spanken new (it lives here in pristine Washington).

I'll agree with the above posters, I'd suggest you just clean them up and spray them with a rust inhibitor.

It's most likely just surface rust and won't affect the function of the part - not in your lifetime.

Salt air from the ocean is nothing like salty roads. That salt water spray day in and day out for 4 months gets up into everything and just rots the car out. There's no way to keep a DD clean and unrusty up north. Down here it's easy if you clean it every now and again.

That's not rust! That's NY patina :)

If I learned nothing else from Antiques Roadshow and Pawnstars I did learn you always leave patina since it makes the item more authentic and valuable!

What is weird is that only very specific bolts have been affected.
Similar bolts right next to these are perfectly brand new looking.

Yea, instead of hunting down parts, I may just wire brush and Permatex these.

My car also came from NY and the engine bay screws/bolts looks just like that; was looking at just replacing them eventually.
