Looking for wheel ideas for my hot lava FR-S
 

Just got the car and want new wheels and better tires. There are just way too many choices and I'm hoping someone out there who's done this can recommend some wheels and tire sizes for me. Here's my target:

- On the hot lava I think bronze would look great, MAYBE gold.... Please recommend these colors first.
- Want to stay with 17's but do want to increase the width. Not sure if 8 or 8.5 is best. What do you think?
- Maybe spacers to flush the look? No idea how to compute offsets and spacer sizes. Willing to learn but I'm no math genius.
- Will eventually do coil overs to lower the car a little and improve handling.
- I do autocross and track days and don't want to sacrifice performance over looks. I would think there has to be a sweet spot that allows it to look better and handle a little better at the same time. Which is why I don't want heavy 18 or 19 inch wheels and giant tires.
- MUST NOT rub at all at any time, period.

Thanks for any advice! I've looked through the hot lava picture thread and have a small list of possibles but just want to cover all my bases.

First off, what is your budget?

If you ever considering also some BBK, then add to that list also which BBK planned wheels should clear.

Good call - sorry about that. For just the wheels, around $1000- $1250. I could go a little higher if they were amazing.

17x8.5 is available. But only barely. You will mostly find 17x8 or 17x9.

Take a look at the Enkei RPF1 in gold - its light and affordable with a number of fitments that will work for you, with the only downside being that it's a little soft.

17x9 +45 , needs 3mm spacer to clear stock front strut.

And also guarantees no negative camber up front on stock suspension.

How's that lack of negative front camber working out for you?

Oh, wait, I see you are in Wisconsin, there's no twisty roads there anyway. Carry on.

Ouch! Apexi EXV coils and LCAs are next. And there are plenty of twisties out here... you just have to drive a couple hours away.

I just installed a set of 949 wheels in beryllium on my Halo 2017 86. I went with 17" 1 " wider than stock. With with Michelin 225 17s. I think you were right the bronze would look good I was suggest calling Jackson racing in Southern California that's who I got my wheels and tires through, for roughly the price you're speaking of.
