stalling with turbo setup

Alright guys, bringing up an issue im having. I read about it in an older thread but thought id ask as it didn't help too much. So i installed my turbo setup and it went good. Got an etune from shiv that he just finished up said everything looked great. Only one issue im having that he didn't address and has yet to get back on is that when im coasting along and decide i want to stop and put my clutch In my rpms will drop, stutter, and then the car goes lean and stalls out. sometimes it may catch itself but rarely. So i have to be very specific and brake to a certain point before i cant stop. I read that it is injector scaling or ol/cl fueling. Any advice on what I should scale or change would be fantastic so i can drive normal again. Thanks! p.s will provide any logs or whatever is needed if someone wants to help!!!

If the tune worked fine for a while, then later you got this problem its unlikely to be tune related.

Its most likely a intake/vacuum leak.

Check all the hoses on intake are clamped including those underneath the intake manifold.

Check you bov for leaks aparantly the early model bov supplied with sbd kits do leak causing the problem you have. Maybe try sealing of bov port and see if stalling problem persists.

check catch cans for leaks

also try posting in the sbd facebook group

No it hasn't happened all of a sudden it's been an issue since the beginning. I let him know at the beginning of tuning and he acknowledged it was tune related but he would get to it later after maf and everything was scaled right and looking good. But now that he has done that and said the tune is done he has yet to address the stalling issue still after many emails lol. But the bov one seems different ill go ahead and give that a shot and see if anything happens. And as far as hoses and everything goes i added extra clamps to everything under the intake manifold already since i heard them popping off is an issue.

try altering the "Overrun Fueling RPM Resume Threshold " table in romraider and give the engine fuel back a little earlier (ie higher rpm)

This was just a suggestion you may also have to look at desired mass airflow or other tables

However just try making small changes,

Does it stall out when cold ? or only when fully warmed up ?

if it only stalls out when fully warmed up just alter the purple 1525 to say 1700.

you may also want to try bumping your base idle 50 rpm from maybe 700 to 750

Yea in the tune my idle was upped already to 850, but i changed the overrun and it helped dramatically. I haven't stalled yet since the change so lets hope it lasts! Thanks for the help!

Idle issues tend to be fueling related. Check fuel trims etc. You could try adjusting the idle stability control.

Possible , but he reckons its only an issue braking and comming to a stop eith clutch in.

Hopefully its git decient fuel trins as its gad cystom tune.. but skso a possibility.

If its got big port injectors might be worth running full DI injection to 0.3 load maybe ? If the injdctor latency is a bitt off ?

didn't fix it completely but stalling is a lot less. it happens in neutral reving also, as the rpms drop when they got about 1000 it'll stutter down to like 600 and sometimes die but not other times. injectors are stock. but yea my fuel trims have been fine as shiv had all that fixed. But when i did change the overrun the fuel trims are a little higher now. So should i change the DI injection? should i also try idle stability control as well?

Changing the overun fueling should not effect fuel trims, id ssy is cause the ecu gets reset when you flashed updated tune and its just fuel trims relearning.

If its got stock injectors and fuel trims are good then thats good u likely to be cause.

I still think it might be bov leaking slightly especially as you say it leans out and stslls in your first post if its not the new type bov raceport i think the older ones a few people has issues with slight leaks causing idle problems

Kodename47 06-02-2017 09:15 PM

Add a couple of percent to idle region of the MAF....

I gave up for a bit on this. But what i did over the weekend for fun was use that section to make your car pop and backfire to mess with my tune to shoot flames. In the process of doing that something that was changed actually fixed the stalling completely. Idk what it was. But the only issue is a want to be able to drive and downshift and not have a gunshot with a 2 foot flame out the back lol.

its likely the overrun fueling timer that adding fuel, that's "fixed" your stalling issue
