Question about the clutch spring removal
I test drove a manual civic si as well as a brz. I felt like I could grasp the engagement point and had a bigger leeway in the si when starting to 1st gear. With the brz I stalled a few times trying to feel the engagement point and applying gas.
I read a few posts about how it feels a lot better when you remove the clutch spring in an frs/brz, but I just wasn't sure if I'm talking about the same feeling/situation and wanted clarification. |
Yes, feels slightly better, but adjusting the engagement point lower to the floor helps a lot too. These cars stock, have a ridiculously high engagement point.

Make the engagement point lower and you will like it alot more. It took me driving my friends 12 wrx to finally adjust mine in my BRZ. I was mad at myself for not doing it as soon as I got the car because I was having trouble on hills in Cali. Not stalling just really shaky. The hatch wrx grabs almost as soon as you start letting off. I like that feel and now my BRZ is the same ☺

Ah wow thanks. Didn't know you could lower the engagement point; I'll have to look into that.

did it on mine. It's not hard just kind of a pain since you kinda have to be upside down a bit. When you do it, pro tip. Press and depress the clutch pedal while you are rotating the clutch pin. Otherwise you'll wonder why it wont rotate when everyone says it should be super easy.
You'll know what i mean when you attempt it. |
