Undercoating Yes/No?
I searched but didn't get any solid advice or opinions on Undercoating in the general forum.
I didn't opted to for the paint/rust protection from the Stealership...... So I'm considering going to Z-tech to have the undercoating done on the vehicle. $199 for the undercoating $299 for undercoating/rust protection Thanks in advance... m@rk |

Undercoating is not necessary from what i've heard. I believe, and correct me if i'm wrong, that the body panels on these cars are galvanized, so rust shouldn't be an issue for quite some time.

Depending on the type of coating it could make it a nightmare to do suspension work. All the bolts will be caked and a pain to work with.

Beats rusted bolts.... I've got older Corolla's as daily drivers, none were treated and are rusting. PIA when it comes to do anything underneath. Like cutting drilling and tapping bad. In some cases I've held off on doing anything.
I'd rather fight through gum. Myself I don't bother since I have a daily beater so the FRS would normally stay garaged in the winter. I will drive, but only when there's no melting and the roads are dry. If it's a daily, and you plan on keeping for an extended period, it might be worth some consideration. Especially around here... |
