Dehumidifier?

Anyone use/try a dehumidifier in their car?
I live in the South.. there's lots of water.

I just order an Eva-dry e-500 to give a try, anyone else have comments on this?

Well, no.

I live in the PNW and we have lots of water ....... and my car's A/C seems to do a pretty good job of keeping the humidity down.

If you need one of those for your car ....... maybe you should consider moving out of that swamp onto higher ground ....... ?? ......:D

We just freeze it out for 5 months a year.

I also live in the humid south, don't ever have a problem with "water" inside, use your A/C more often.

I do avoid using the AC pretty much all the time. I know it comes on automatically in defog mode, but otherwise I don't use it much, and that doesn't do anything when the cars parked.

My a/c is on all of the time as it helps to dry the air. Can't stand misted windows!

I don't know why but they do seem to collect moisture a lot more than any other car I've owned. Wonder if the HVAC box has a spot that doesn't drain well. :iono:

Nah. It's not that bad and I know nothing's actually wrong. Just odd.

I usually have side vents open and directed at side windows with the a/c on and experience zero issues with steamy windows.

'100% Renewable, No Cords or Buckets
To renew, just plug the E-500 into a power outlet and let heat gently release the collected moisture. The unit is ready for use again when the crystals turn blue, usually in 12 to 14 hours.'

No cords, yet it gets plugged in to renew...very odd...conflicting statements.

Evidently contains silica gel crystals, which soak up moisture...then it gets plugged into an electrical outlet, contains a heater which dries out the silica gel in time.

Worth a try. Let us know if it handles the job, and how long before it must be plugged in to dry ITSELF out.

I use these units in closed spaces like gun cabinets and they work fine for keeping the humidity low. not intended to remove large amounts of water. a small puddle from the ac is much more than these can handle. and their absorption rate is low and slow.

Gun cabinets?? How many guns do you have???

@Chimera I had a hole poked in my floor from running over a chisel on the highway which would cause some ingress and lots of moisture. I had great success in removing wetness and mildew by using Damprid hanging packs hung off the backs of my seats. They'd collect like a liter of water each after about a week.

Also, best place to buy them is Home Depot / Lowes. Everywhere else marks them up like crazy.
