Steering wheel alignment question

Does anyone know how to adjust the steering wheel position? I just got a good alignment but the wheel is slightly turned to the right when traveling straight... I can't go back to the shop while they're open before I have to make a long trip, but I have jack stands and a variety of tools. Basically I'm also asking if changing the steering wheel position will impact the alignment I just got.

Yes, you'll mess up your alignment if you try to adjust it yourself. Take it back. The shop messed up by not centering the wheel before performing an alignment. Sloppy work.

sloppy work indeed

Assuming there isn't any toe angle the steering wheel center is somewhat irrelevant* in terms of actual alignment. That said, if they were sloppy with the steering wheels angle it's quite conceivable that the front toe or thrust isn't perfect either and that's what would concern me more.

You should take it back and have them fix it.

*I'm guessing that at some point the car's stability system would object

Yeah the only issue is I have absolutely no availability to take it back before making a couple hundred mile road trip. Looks like I'll just be driving on it then, bummer. This is the push I needed to just install the HVT Camber plates that I have had sitting around.

Yeah sloppy indeed, sad because they've done a bunch of AutoX alignments for me over the past few years and none have ever been a problem until now :(

I would have asked them to redo the alignment the moment I noticed the steering wheel wasn't centered.

a crooked steering wheel often results from doing a 2-wheel alignment rather than a 4-wheel alignment

If they didn't re-calibrate the VSC system having the wheel off center will also cause the VSC system to have an un-needed intervention every now and then.

I would take it back now, find the time even. Once you go on your trip you wont be able to take it back without having to pay anything.

I'm not sure when you got the alignment but if its been a couple days already you may not even be able to take it back to have them correct it for free. They may claim you got into a pot hole or something.

I have a question, I just got alignment recently and my front camber left is 1.5 and right is 1.8 does .3 make a big difference? Should I just leave it alone?

Not really, not enough to worry about. If you were tracking a lot or OCD I'd say get it closer to ideal, but not for a daily driver.
