RPM Drop when revving?

Hi everyone, I'm new here with a 2017 BRZ with PP. I have searched the forums for this but haven't found anything... When I rev up the motor the RPMs will die pretty significantly before revving up, and in other people's videos it doesn't seem to do this. Anyone know whats going on? Heres a video...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeqG...ature=youtu.be

Need to clarify, are you blipping the throttle yourself or is it the engine that is doing that itself? Otherwise I can't tell what the problem is except your not breathing on the throttle enough to rev it up.

I am blipping the throttle over and over, but each time I tap the gas the Revs seem to drop right before going up

If I were the service writer:

Situation normal. Adjust the customer, not the car.

Good luck with a lightened flywheel... ;)

Well the engine can't just respond in the manner you're asking it. Your opening and closing the throttle shut at low rpms so the engine is trying to breathe and adjust to what you're doing. I think first there has to be some time for pre-enrichment otherwise it'll just be sucking air.

When I rev I do it easily first, and then just breathe into the throttle. I don't tap.

Then again I could be totally wrong. It's kinda hard to tell what's wrong without seeing what your feet are doing.

I am just tapping the gas and not allowing he throttle to breathe, just my Z didn't react the same way. It could be completely normal for this car and I could be totally overthinking it. Thank you though!

@G17BRZ the throttle response should become more refined through normal and spririted driving. If your car is brand new or the battery disconnected recently then the car takes time to re-learn, and can be laggy in the duration.

Your Z probably had rev hang which is something you don't want in a car cuz it will mess with your timing on rev match.

Just a guess cuz I don't really know what the problem is from the video lol!

So the complaint is that when you let up on on the gas, the revs drop? Am i missing something?

It could be a troll post, the YT video is labeled

@G17BRZ I believe that is normal. I had the same question when I first got the car but no others seem to understand what I was getting at. I haven't experienced other cars doing this either, this is a first(I know the pre-2017 didn't dip in rpm before it revs)
