Kenwood DDX916WS head unit -- any installed?
 

This Australian/Malaysian head unit from Kenwood looks like the best 200mm wide unit available right now. Seems to do it all: Carplay, Android, CD/DVD, advanced Bluetooth, steering controls, FLAC files, 2 cameras, etc.

Has anyone installed it yet? I'm curious how well it integrates with the 2017 BRZ, especially the steering controls and camera, etc.

I haven't even received my car and I'm already resigned to replacing the US dash with the CA one-piece so I can upgrade the stock HU! Sure would be nice to avoid adding spacers to fill the gaps.

I'm interested in this as well. Looking into this head unit to replace the stock nav unit in my 2017 once it comes in.

Carbon Car Sounds have done it on an older model and have an install video.

There is also a new model out for 2017, the DDX917WS which has Air Mirroring and a few other features built in.

Brimstone103 was looking at doing it, not sure if it's done yet.

The navi unit in my car is damaged so I think I'm going to get this unit.

Yep

It came in already. It probably took 15 minutes to install and it's a beautiful unit. So far it pretty easy to operate.

Congrats! That looks really sharp. Let us know what you think of the sound and functionality when you get familiar.

I'm looking at going with the same unit. It looks sharp! How do you feel about it not having a volume knob? Are you using CarPlay or AndroidAuto?

I'm also interested to know if this supports HD Radio in the US. I don't listen to radio often but it is nice to have the better quality sound when I do.
