Exhaust spring bolts

I recently put on a aftermarket exhaust and now one of the exhaust spring bolt is gone. Pretty sure the exhaust was installed properly and the sale at the part department told me the spring bolt on our car tend to fail. Is it not recommended to use normal bolt and nut to replace the spring bolt since the mid section of the exhaust is designed the flex? Thanks.

Try it and if it doesn't leak it should be fine. I have ran it with regular bolts on this car and my previous one with no noticable ill effects. Granted im no engineer and can only guess at the true use of spring bolts (to keep pressure on the donut gasket or due to flange design??) so I could be dead wrong but I dont think your car will blow up either wau

Yeah will replace it with regular bolt and nut and see. In my understanding the exhaust shouldnt flex or expand that much I think.
