Tire questions

I recently purchased winter tires after learning my lesson from last winter. I went with the champiro ice pro 235/45/17 mounted on the OEM wheels.
What psi should I inflate them? I currently have them at 33psi but it seems kinda low.

Also, do all FRS have the same TPMS codes? I bought some aftermarket wheels from a member and it came with the TPMS.

I would think that 33 psi would be OK for those tires. However, if they feel squeeeeshy, you may want to kick them up a few psi.

This thread may shed some light on your TPMS question:

I'm still confused about the tpms. The person who sold them to me, said that he copied the oem codes to the aftermarket wheels. Now do all wheels have different codes compared to other FRS cars?

every tpms has a different signal so cars that are near each other do not get confused. A dealer or good aftermarket wheel and tire person can get them to work for you.

As for pressure, definitely go higher. I pumped mine up to 40 because it made them feel better on dry pavement. But it depends on how you want them to feel and what the max pressure for your tires are.

Lower pressures can be helpful if it is icy/snowy, but it can be OK to go up some for between crap. They'll always be squishier, and always be less performant in dry/wet. I run 36psi and drop it if needed.

I drove it today and it definitely needs more air. The car wiggles a lot and the abs kicks in a lot while making turns . Not sure if it's the tire size or warm weather.

it is the lack of traction. Winter tires have less traction than stock. The only time I've ever had the traction control kick in is when I have winter tires mounted. I even managed to do a 4 wheel drift in the rain on an on ramp with the stock tires and traction control acted like it was normal and nothing to worry about.

Why do you want to use the TPMS from the other member, if you still have your OEM wheels, you should just use those.

Keep it in 33~36 psi is fine.

As for car wiggling is due to soft wall, it's something that need to get used to, but it's somewhat common in winter tires. As for ABS kicking it, it's your driving. Gotta learn summer driving and winter driving

This^
I am running the Champiros as well and they have a very aggressive tread that will walk through the worst ice and snow thrown at them but are not fond of warm, dry conditions. Don't go nuts with the pressure since they get even more squirrely if to high. I stick to 34PSI.You will get used to them. They are a surprisingly good tire for the price.

Yes I do drive a bit hard. Also, I noticed that it was very dangerous going over 70 as the car was very unstable.
