Alternate location for reverse camera (HowTo)
I mounted up a Rydeen Duo on my Subaru BRZ using this post:
BRZ Limited Backup Camera Step by Step (WARNING long post, many pictures) I found that I didn't like the OEM location much. When parking, the driver side parking lines, or curb, or other cars... strongly favored the passenger side visually. At times, it took a bit of mental arithmetic that I couldn't afford in my rush to avoid inconveniencing others. As a result, I removed it and installed it differently: in the center. Comparison of OEM (top) and centered (bottom): http://i.imgur.com/p29Sc8l.jpg OEM location: http://i.imgur.com/NT4p65L.jpg Alternate centered location: http://i.imgur.com/c13EEgr.jpg What it looks like mounted (the back hangs on the ridge): http://i.imgur.com/9tXEh1X.jpg Also, I no longer have a stock headunit. As such, these are the wires to tap in the rear trunk, along the back trunk wall: http://i.imgur.com/M7eRZcY.jpg |
Great write-up, I'm really interested in adding a backup cam as well.

3M tape is enough to keep it mounted even with the Florida heat? Which model is that? |
