Smells like unburnt fuel
So today I let the car go past E, filled the car up and now I've been smelling unburnt fuel for 20 miles and hasn't gone away yet.
I have an aftermarket fuelpump and injectors, didn't smell any fuel from the engine bay but smelling fuel near the rear. Anyone's guess? |
make sure the gas cap is on, if it is turn it counter clockwise a hair until you feel the cap lid loosen not the cap itself. Or remove the cap slowly to remove any pressure. Check all around the fuel system for drips.

It could be an issue with your evap system. Is the CEL on? Have you checked codes?

Oh, maybe it was soo thirsty, that when you filled it, some gas spilt over the filler tube and that's what you're smelling.
I wouldn't worry about it unless the smell persists or you get a light...:) humfrz |

Please let me explain, if you overfilled the tank, either by forcing fill past the click off on the nozzle or the pump just malfunctions and doesn't shut off ...... some fuel can slip past the filler tube into the fender well area. Gasoline trapped in there can take a while to evaporate and can smell for some time, especially in colder weather. PS - I don't troll people ...... sometimes I pull their leg or yank their chain .... but do not troll ..... :) humfrz |

smell the fuel again, this time I see fuel leaking rear driver side
a little information about the car, I do have an aftermarket fuel pump and injectors. |
Check fuel lines, injectors connection and fuel pump while engine running
