Go here: FT86Club 2013 Subaru BRZ Factory Service / Shop Manual

Download the PDF manual titled 2012 BRZ Service Manual (PDF) Overview (I suggest downloading all the PDF's, they're pretty fun to look through)

Open the PDF, and search for:

14.Automatic Transmission Fluid or scroll down to page PM-68

Get dirty, have fun, and dispose of used fluids responsibly!

I think you actually need a special pump tool for auto trans, its not just drain and fill like the 6 MT

You don't. it is drain and fill multiple times basically but you need to put it in the correct mode so the shift indicators tell you the AT is at the correct temp to measure correctly.

The SST they mention to jump the 2 ports can be replaced with a paper clip fyi. Just follow the service manual and you should be fine. It's not that bad now that I have seen it done. Just do it before driving anywhere or it'll take forever to cool down enough.

What I have done with my other Subaru WRX is a drain and fill, once a year or once every 10K miles. Rather than try to get every bit out by doing it three times at once, it adds better fluid every year or so. Worked for 116K so far with no issues. I may do the same with the BRZ, depends how much effort I want to make. I drive the WRX pretty spirited and the fluid coming out always looks great. I am sure its overkill, but can't be bothered to do it three times in a row. I wish there was a better way.
