Why IS TRD so slow.....
Does anyone know why it takes TRD sooooo long to introduce products for our car????:mad0260:

They are always slow! They were slow back in the 90's when they introduced products for the supra and GT-4.
|
Because they don't actually make any parts? (all contracted work with other companies)

TRD japan is a different story. all made in house! |

This process can often take months, and production on the parts cannot start until the approvals have been given. Quote:

TRD USA / Canada often outsources their performance parts to aftermarket companies to develop/manufacture parts for the North American market. TRD Japan typically uses more of the OEM-manufacturers to develop their parts to TRD's specs. TRD USA / Canada sometimes uses the TRD Japan parts as well.
TRD Japan's parts typically have a more "original" feel and quality to the parts, while TRD USA's feel more like aftermarket parts. Jeff |

I guess that's the biggest difference to TRD USA versus TRD Japan, while they both do get other companies to manufacture the parts in the end (frequently with Japan using OE companies), TRD Japan does more in-house development of the parts, while TRD USA outsources both the development and the manufacturing (still to Toyota/TRD's specs, but it's different).
