First time lowering the suspension. Need advice
I just bought a set of coilovers from Yonaka. They all have camber plates on top which means I can adjust the camber when the car is lowered without having to purchase adjustable control arms correct? Please help out, I am very new to the car mod game

Nope, won't fix the camber in the rear, you'll need rear LCA's if you want to adjust rear camber. That said you can be just fine depending on what alignment specs you want and how much you're dropping the car.
What alignment specs you say? How much can I drop the car? Search this forum and you'll find all that info. |
There are "camber plates" and there are "adjustable camber plates".
Those in the rear are never adjustable on the FT86, hence you need lower control arms for the rear or live with the camber resulting from lowering. If you don't lower it crazy much, you can probably do without. Even if the camber is slightly off left to right in the rear, you probably won't notice depending on what you plan to do with the car. |

I lowered my car ignorantly low, over 2" with the wheels tucked in and the camber is ugly as hell to me in the rear. I'm going widebody as soon I get a new wheel setup so I don't really care right now, I'm tired of going into my shed to look my RB v1 flares. I would also advise, during installation to make sure the end links are aligned and installed correctly or you may get noise. Make sure everything is tightened the right way, you may need adjustable endlinks as well going 2" lower. My alignment is fine though, I haven't gotten an alignment and no issues with my tires or anything aside from minimal camber wear.

I would take it to a performance shop unless "close enough" or "within the spec range" is good enough for you. Personally I want my alignment to be a lot more accurate than that. |
