720 Forme GTF1. Light at approx 15 lbs in 17x8, maybe 16.5 lbs in 17x9. See them in my avatar. Similar strength and weight as Enkei RPF1 without the common design and (in my opinion) ugliness.

thank you so much!!!! btw how much were the price of your tires for the set of wheels?

trex510 10-04-2016 02:50 AM

and do you have a link for where you bought the GTF1?

You could always go with Ambit wheels and use the TJ hunt discount code to get them at like 50$ a wheel

Click on the link in my signature, My 2016 Subaru BRZ Series.HyperBlue Build. I went with Enkei GT7 Hyper Silver rims (also available in black.) They make the STI rims, but I wasn't planning on spending that much for those, although they look hot.

I don't really like to give out links, but check out tirerack.com. I'd go with a set of Enkei wheels you like and since your on a budget, probably go with the Dunlop Direzza DZ102 or Yokohama S.Drive tires since you live in California and they are in the Ultra High Performance Summer category. They both look good at channeling rain. The Yokohama tires would probably do a better job of it. And what ever you do, do not get them siped.

A bit of advice, try to use the TPMS sensors from your old rims, if possible. If you're going to be putting your original tires on the new rims you'll have no problems. Sometimes the aftermarket sensors don't want to program correctly because Toyota made the sensors to be programmed specifically to each wheel. Some shops know of ways around it, but the only way I know how to do it is to load up Toyota Techstream software on a Windows 7 computer (As far as I know, Toyota hasn't updated the software past Windows 7, there's a way to get it to work on 8 possibly 10, but you have to do a lot of fiddling around) and program each wheel with the correct sensor to each individual wheel. A Subaru dealer will have no idea they have to do this unless you tell them because Subaru Sensors don't have to be programmed this way. Also, a Toyota dealer will probably try to over charge you. I just bought 4 new Toyota sensors and programmed it in Techstream myself since I use snow tires on my factory rims. Otherwise, if your light pops on, just take it over to DiscountTire. I think they can do it for you on the cheap. If they are reusing your old tires, don't let them trick you into buying new sensors or rebuilding the old ones, have them use the old ones even though they'll try to say they may not work or some bs.

Here's a youtube link of a guy programing his on a Toyota Highlander.[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrR78PogYw8"]Replace Broken TPMS Sensor and Add New TPMS Sensor in Toyota Lexus or Scion w/ TechStream TIS - YouTube[/ame]

Really? With the discount its only $50 a wheel? Is this for all Ambit wheels or just some designs?

I personally wouldn't recommend Ambit wheels due to the JWL debacle.

They had the JWL/VIA stamps on their wheels without actually passing certification.

That's hilarious. Replica wheels now sporting replica certifications

Their wheels are stated to be "Manufactured in a JWL/VIA Certified Facility"... but the wheels themselves are not certified? haha

I put replicas on my wife's BRZ. She's not doing track days or banging into curbs. Potholes are also not a problem in Arizona. Picked these up from TireRack (18x9) for $200/wheel and mounted Michelin PSS 245/35ZR18 tires on them. The extra grip was needed after adding a supercharger. No trouble at all moving the TPMS from the OEM wheels/tires to the new set.

They may be reps, but tire rack doesn't sell shit wheels. They're much pickier than other retailers.
