New tune no Oil Temp PID

Quick question for some of u guys that know something about tuning.
I just installed an e tune through ECUtec. I have to have them make revisions and im sure they will have me an answer but itll be monday before i get a response for this problem. before the tune I had oil temp reading. After the tune and header install i have all my OBD2 readings i had before just no oil temp reading. I hit read PIDs on my digital gauge lay out and doesnt pull oil temp at all.

Is this something that was just left out the tune and can be fixed by editing the tune on ecutec or am I just wishful thinking? sorry this is my first tuned car and know nothing about tuning to that extent.

Like i said i know my tuner will get back with me about it on monday but i figured you guys could give me something so I dont question any work i did all weekend lol.

Thats weird, have ecutek tune latest racerom 9 and standard oil temp pid works fine with torque app

ecutek doesnt usually change and of that stuff.

can you read oil temp via ecutek logging, with ecutek cable

test your guage on another car maybe

somehow the tune has change the was that oil temp PID reads because the ecutek has it all day but the second i unplug ecutek and try to read it on my digital gauge i get nothing but every other gauge works perfect.

Ok, ecutek logging of oil temp will be by direct read of ecu ram address

you guage like torque app will send a obd parameter id request to ecu these are standard for any ecu calibration id but the ram address will change

can the guage be setup to read different pid for oil temp ? or check setting

see second post in this thread

Reading through that thread now. So what youre saying is the ram adress can change but the PID information will not change? I am using an Idatalink through my head unit by maestro. It checks for PIDs and validates. Its pulling all of them like normal but my oil temp is X out now and I dont think there is any way to go in the and change any pid information in the idatalink unit itself.

I read this
Q. I don't have an option for OBD header in the custom PID, do I need this?
A. For certain PID's such as Engine Oil Temperature you need to input OBD header information, you'll need to purchase the Torque Pro App in order to be able to enter the OBD header information.

i am so confused lol. why it pulled it before but not pulling now. ugh

yes strange it worked before but not now.

If you canot change pid info in guage device, then it would appear something has changed in ecutek rom and its upset the pid information for oil temp. Ecutek dont usually alter this info.

looks like it up to ecutek now

im sure the tuner will take care of me. thanks for your help man. I was just trying to find out if this was normal or not.

My new tune is RR9 and it doesn't have Oil Temp either!! Well, that's a lie.
It shows on EcuTek but doesn't show on Torque... strange.

I'm not the only one!!! Lol. Idk if that's bad or good. I'll keep you posted on what my tuner says so you can get yours to work too. I'm just glad it's not on my end
