3d print sound tube delete plug.

Thought I would share here too, I posted it on thingiverse:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1743273

But if you remove your sound tube and need to plug the hole this will do it. I am currently using this on my car. I recommend printing in ABS. PLA's glass transition is only 140f which could be seen in the engine bay.

I may see about kicking one of these out in ultem.

Printed one out, then made a few design changes, and printed another one.

Lol I actually considered doing just that at first too, had the hole saw out and everything :)

But decided to go slightly nicer looking, even though I only needed mine on temporarily since I took off my JRSC to have some work done by the dealer.

Also if you want even more ghetto a oil bottle cap (atleast the cap to the rotrex "traction fluid" bottle) fits in there perfectly. I may have run that way for a day or so before printing this.

Just curious, what did you end up changing?

Depending on when you downloaded the one I posted on thingiverse I made the barrel .25" shorter to fit more flush. I think I slightly adjusted the little nub to fit in the slot better at one point too.

Man, that's great. It was actually a scrap in my hand on the way to the trash when I snapped to the idea. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

I downloaded on Aug 31. I did both of those things, and added a bit of recess along the main barrel, to let the hose clamp compress the rubber in a bit, to aid in retention. Added a lead in chamfer to aid in installation a wee bit.

Also the first was made solid, the second is sparse filled, much lighter.

If I did another rev. I'd try to match the shape/curve of the tube, on the inside

Bingo. At least on mine it looks like there used to be wall/diaphragm which was manually cut out. Definitely more than flashing. I sanded down my ghetto plug to fit.

Butt dyno says about 2 HP. What software are you guys using to create the geometry?
