OFT support
Does anyone know if Shiv from Vishnu OFT is still around? I've been emailing and calling for days now.

Good luck man, I've gotten no responses either from openflash. I still see Shiv around the forums, so I'm sure there around.

I do know Shiv has been quite busy this past week. Give him time, he's never failed to respond to me, just isn't always the fastest.

Unfortunately, my experience so far is that after sales support is essentially non-existent.
Other than Shiv (who responded once and seems to be over- committed) my experience is similar to OP. Not even an auto acknowledgement e-mail :sigh:. The OFT is a great device and I'll keep trying, but I speculate that the lack of support effort is linked to a declining commercial interest in the FT86 platform. If you have a later model (2014+) BRZ, 86 or FRS, you need to make sure you really understand the limitations you will have with OFT (e.g. logging) as you may be stuck with them. |
Shiv ?
As Canadians, we also have trouble getting support from Shiv due to his one man operation and his 18 hr. work days.
Fortunately, BRZ WORLD is close to SHIV, and is the only OFFICIAL representative of SHIV in Canada. Because I purchased my OFT from BRZ WORLD, BRZ WORLD fastracked my problem and went beyond the call of duty to solve it. Very pleased ! :respekt: |
No support, period.
Really quick to respond to the initial sale of the OFT however. Very disappointing customer service. To the point of being rude. |
Are you sure you're using the correct email? The few times I've reached out they've been courteous and quick to respond.
In the mean time, maybe someone on the forum can help? |
I bet he will come with new features, last time was the same and came with ofh ver. 2,3 and new ofs tunes

Jump onto the facespace and join the SBD FB group. He is very active on there. Or just send him a PM on fb?

While I know he can be slow to respond. I've been corresponding with him for well over a month now, and while it may take a day or two to hear back, I've never not gotten a reply from him. I've also talked to him a handful of times before I even bought an OFT with no issues with responses.
Also keep in mind, the OFT is not just for the FR-S. He supports a handful of vehicle platforms. I will admit, it can be a bit frustrating when it seems there is only 1 person really fielding all the emails and questions, he surely needs to find some trustworthy hands to help him out, but I knew what I was getting myself into with the OFT, I did my research, I talked with people and I knew it may not be the quickest responses if I had a problem. |
Has anyone done the E-Tuning service that is available from Openflash. I've been waiting for 3+ weeks for a baseline tune and wanted to know how long it has taken others for receive a baseline tune. (Vortech FR-S)

Nvm. It looks like they processed my request to reset the erase limit without acknowledging me (which I'm okay with).
