Such bad mileage!!
Im reading 24 mpg average. I drive 80% of the time casually. Header exhaust tune. Yet i still only get about 240 miles per full tank. Wtf? I bought this car when j sold my jeep as i thought it would get way better mileage. These cars guzzle gas like a hummer

So it seems that you have a header-back exhaust along with a tune... well yes, you're going to get worse mileage. Better flow means your engine can breathe better... however breathing better also means breathing more. This means your engine will be using a bit more fuel, just the nature of the beast. Add to that, your tune may eliminate the torque dip, but it serves a purpose and isn't just a random quirk with the car. The range where the torque dip is most commonly found is between 3k to 4.5k, highway cruising RPMs. Essentially, the torque dip helps with the car's MPG while cruising which ultimately helps with emissions. By flattening out the torque curve, you're sacrificing your MPG. |
why complain about gas mileage when you bought a sports car that requires premium and you put on performance mods that will use more gas? you should have expected the mpg wouldn't be ideal or to your liking
if you can afford the car and the mods you shouldn't have to worry about gas i say when I had my 370Z i was getting maybe 22mpg...i knew it came with the territory so i just ended up dealing with it |
Idk what you have going on OP but I get 26mpg highway driving on e85. Over 30 on 93. I have stock headers but rest of the exhaust is catless and also have a tune.

How you drive is more important than what you drive. And I don't mean how you keep it <4k rpm or whatever.
Put an 86 on a flat windless highway at 55mph for a day and it will get >35 mpg. Downhill you might hit 40 mpg. Put an 86 in stop and go traffic for a day and it will get 19 mpg. Flog an 86 on the track and it will get 10 mpg. Put a Prius on a highway at 75mph for a day and it will get <40 mpg and not the 50+ plastered all over the advertising. Here's my fill up log, averaging ~24-25 mpg with a city driving bias. Manual BRZ is rated at 22mpg city/30mpg highway/25mpg combined by the EPA, so 24mpg is right about where it's supposed to be.

I get 31mpg on my way to work trying to get good mileage, I get 25mpg on the way back enjoying myself on back roads. Just a catback...

Welp, @Norinradd ........ like said ...... you messed with the engine, now it's messing with your gas mileage.
For your reference, I get about 34 mpg highway, driving at or a bit above the speed limit, with the A/C on. humfrz |

Just a catback here. Granted 80% of my M-F driving is just sitting in traffic, but every chance i get im usually romping through the gears and i rarley cruise under 4k. That plus about half a tank worth of hard canyon driving every weekend and i get anywhere between 23-25 mpg (per the read out).
I think thats pretty amazing tbh |
