Exhaust Hangers
Hi all! I have not swapped out an exhaust myself before, and have not seen much on this topic. Now that I have a catback on the way I'm curious if I should swap out my hangers?
I have seen multiple products out there, all appear to be polyurethane with different shapes being the most noticeable difference. Is there any manufacturer/style that is better than another? Since I am getting a Perrin catback, should I stick with their hangers too? Thank you in advance. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk |

I have swapped exhaust twice, once after 1 year of owning the car, the second time after 3 years. This car sees winter (with snow and salt) and the exhaust hangers are just fine and poped out easily (with a little WD40). Dont waste your money on unnecessary things.

Not a big deal. Car is newer so they should still be good. New exhaust should be lighter too. You will know as soon you put them on. Depending on how the hangers sit, there should be tension on the hangers and not on the exhaust flanges.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: depends on the condition of the stock hangers and whether they are stretched or cracked. Two of mine broke on their own after 30k miles, I bought new ones since it wasn't something I was going to trouble a dealer with. -alex |
Great, that saves ~$50-60. Was not sure if using stock hangers was good enough since the polyurethane ones supposedly keep the exhaust from shifting around more.

Plus, the aftermarket poly hangers are mostly meant for older cars in excess of 10 years where the hangers fall apart the moment you take out the exhaust. -alex |

I had to get new hangers for my Injen exhaust, but that was just because this specific exhaust sits too close to the diffuser with stock-length hangers. You should have no problem.
