I'm pretty sure there are many discussions out there about this but, I was planning on getting a OFT with some UEL and catback exhaust. Haven't really looked at the specifics yet. But I just want to see what kind of power gains have people gotten from just these 3 mods. Also if people have gotten any problems with this set up. I don't want to go FI because this is my daily and I just want a little bit more go. Not trying to break the bank either. I was hoping it will at least break that 200 whp and gain some torque also. Love the car but I just want a little bit more go.

Wrong section, this is the classifieds.

You'll get close to 200 with a UEL and OFT stage 2, but you won't break it. You'll be somewhere between 185-195. If 200 whp is your target, then look at the ACE CS400 with Delicious tune, or a PTuning header with their tune, and they'll get you right at the 200 whp line. You can also run flex fuel/E85 and that'll give you 200-220 whp, depending on other supporting mods.

If you're running a catless header, especially a UEL catless header, you need to be careful picking your catback, or it'll be louder than hell.

Edit: And moved. Thanks moderators.

And yeah forgot to add that I don't want a loud exhaust setup. I do want a little louder than the stock exhaust.

A catless header makes that difficult. UEL headers have the traditional Subaru rumble. EL headers sound more like inline 4s and make more power. Keep your OEM front pipe, because it has a cat and a resonator. Pick a catback that has a resonator, like Perrin, which is one of the quieter exhausts. Cats remove rasp from the exhaust tone, resonators smooth it out and make it quieter. There's a sticky thread in the exhaust section with youtube videos of different exhaust setups to listen to.

Get the OFT first. You can flash stage 1 and get a little boost, but more importantly you'll have the ability to flash stage 2 as soon as you get the header. Otherwise you're driving around with a header and no tune, which works, but it's not optimal.

Then the header. Then the exhaust. Your header choice will affect how loud you go on the exhaust, and the header is where the power is made, get that before the exhaust.

Do you already have the car?

Yeah I've had it for almost 2 years now. Only thing I've done is just lowered on TRD springs and some lighter wheels. Other than that I have not touch any engine components at all.

Just want to add to this -- Not to disagree with above poster, but in most cases you'll find that resonator's sole job is to reduce rasp. With most true resonators you'll only see a ~10% decrease in volume. The cat will kill ugly rasp, but it also reduces volume more than you'd see with a resonator. You want at least one cat in your system for multiple reasons.

Just for clarity.

OFT then UEL then perrin resonated or Q300 catback.

Live with what you get, you won't hit 200whp.

If you have E85 available, get the delicious E85 tune kit with UEL headers.

The JDL,Tomei/Gruppe S, or Ace headers are great choices, the Ace headers will cost a lot more but you'll see more gains from them.

If only there was a sticky thread at the top of the subforum with this sort of information... hmmmm
