TRD Short Shifter

I've never used any kind of short throw shifter. Is it worth it? What are the cons?

Thanks!

Hmmm... I detect sarcasm I think :)

For me, the throw on the OEM shifter is plenty short.

I have read where some of the short throw shifters can cause shifting problems for some people.

(of course, some people just have shifting problems, period)

I suggest you - read up on it ...... ;)

Do they make short throw shifters for the auto?

There are a few products to choose from. I like the TRD short shifter. It fits proper, great instructions and quality parts. Personally the stock throw was too long for me, you may encounter some notchy shifting. I think this happens with most aftermarket short shifters. But I love the feel and the positive more connected feel.

If you have a short shifter, do you need a new lockout? I just found out the TRD reg shifter in the mail to me won't work with stock lockout

Oh, and how hard is it for a novice to install?

Are we talking about the american one or real TRD one?..

FNCrazy 07-01-2016 04:24 PM

Um, good question. For short throws I didn't know there was a difference. Real one if I can I suppose

Nope its all installed from underneath

Well, maybe if I have someone install sway bars or whatever they're called, I could have them do that too or skip it. I like the shifting, just feel like upgrading
