Brembo swap, uneven pad contact
hey guys wondering if anyone can shine some light on this. Completed the full brembo sti swap and now have uneven pad contact on the disks. wondering why this is happening. I am referring to the rust forming on the outer edge of the rotor.

The pad is not fully covering the disc surface. No big deal.

can it be adjusted in any way? cause all the parts are the right ones for fitment and weird that its not the same on passenger side vs driver

I wonder why do you care about it as much, if you did it mostly for looks, not performance/braking reliability? :)

lol you got me there, but for looks the rust that will eventually build up won't be appealing :0

Stock brake pads did not cover 100% of rotor surface either.
Either use them brembos and heat up those rotors, or clean them occasionally with brake cleaner and wire brush.... Or get over it lol |
Do the calipers have any kind of height adjustment? I had some Wilwoods and you had to set the height of the caliper using washers to set the height. You also had to be sure they were centered or you would get uneven pad wear.

Just soak your brake rotors in wd40 so they won't rust.
I'M JOKING DO NOT DO THAT. But really it shouldn't matter as long as your brakes work. That's all that matters. |
Thanks guys, im just saying since its not the same pad contact on the passenger vs driver side it seemed like we did soemthing wrong during the install

Did you use new pads and rotors? Also what pad is it?

Brake pads can be rusty before they even leave the factory if they are not speced to have inhibitor. The ones with inhibitor last a little longer. Those areas that don't rust (the noncontact areas) are usualy treated with a zinc coating. I see about 2 million rotors a year.
