Well shit... Vortech oil dipstick stuck - head stripped

Posting this from the garage...

Anyone ever had issues getting their vortech oil dipstick off? I'm changing belts today, took the unit off just for convenience, and figured I'd change the oil while it was out. I put my 4.5mm wrench in there and SPIN, followed my gold metal shavings. It's been at least a year since I've had it off and theres been many track days and extreme heat cycles.

It's like... now what. Leave it on there I can still drive the car. Long term ideas anyone? I'm sure a guy can buy a replacement but how do you get it out now? I'll add pics later.

Thanks!

Hammer in a torx bit that's slightly bigger than the hole, make sure it's seated all the way. If that doesn't work, you'll be getting the extractor set and a drill.:(

It's very soft material, as said above hammer in a torx bit.

Isn't the dipstick 3/16"? 4.5mm is a bit smaller by a few thousands

That's actually what I resorted to when the allen wasn't working. Stripped it clean around lol. What got me in my current predicament

That could be the reason I am having this problem in the first place, not using the correct size. :(

For Resolution - I was able to get a new dipstick, and used an extractor kit to remove the old one. Worked well.

Will be making sure to use standard allen when removing in the future, and probably not taking it out at the track :)
