Cracked Tail light
Hey guys,
Got about an inch and a half of cracking on my stock tail lights. What would be the best way to fix it? Just searching around, I suppose a common fix is to use an epoxy? Thanks. |
wheres the crack at? i personally would rather just buy another set of taillights from someone selling their stock ones. dealing with condensation issues would bug the hell out of me
|
Here's the crack. The crack starts at the bottom.
I want to try to save the light, but if not, I'll get another one. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6...jVlNE9EZUhxb0E |
Personally I wouldn't worry about it until it gets worse, then it gives you an excuse to upgrade.
|
I wish my tails had a crack like yours so all the water would drain out.

Sell you my stock tails for 105$ shipped.. lol
|
Lol. That's actually not a bad idea.
|
I've had a cracked tail light (also at the bottom, but waaay worse) for over a year now, probably like 3-4k miles. Light still works fine. I'm leaving it alone till I buy Toms lol.

I'd run a bead of clear caulk right thru it and leave it, till it becomes a bigger problem. Don't want water in there
|
Indeed. I don't want to leave it the way it is and have bigger problems down the road. I can caulk it or put some kind of a clear epoxy to mitigate any creeping.

I would just leave it alone. Like has been said there isn't much that is going to get in there and if it does it can get right back out again. Any patch job is going to look worse than the crack.
